Yellow on the Broom.
The burgeoning of blossom on the gorse bushes (whins) heralds spring . ..long days and better weather. It is a significant time of year for me, one of excitement and anticipation, and the visual blast of yellow on our gorse infested land is fantastic. (Yellow on the Broom is a song title, the lyrics tell the story of travelling people waiting for the yellow to appear on the broom so they can be off travelling.)
